Uganda Travel and Tourism News: Star Times Digital TV in anti-accidents campaign

Start Times Digital Television Network Uganda has joined the traffic police in the anti-motor accidents campaign.

The company’s Country Sales Manager, Simon Arinaitwe says that the road accidents are becoming rampant and need intervention of every stakeholder and individuals.

Arinaitwe was speaking at a function in Kampala that left hundreds of boda-boda cyclists in Kampala central receive free reflector jackets from Star Times Digital TV Network Uganda.

He says that the reflector jackets are aimed at reducing the increased road accidents involving boda-boda riders especially during the night hours.

The Kampala metropolitan Traffic Police Commander, Lawrence Niwabiine who was the chief guest at the function has commended Star Times Digital TV for the good gesture.

Niwabiine asks the boda-boda men to always respect other road users and comply with the traffic guidelines.

The chairman of the boda-boda riders, Atanansi Kafero also commends Star Times Digital TV for its generosity but blames the KCCA for not putting road signs in black spots.

Kafero says that the death of two people who drowned in a trench at Katwe-Kalitunsi, Kampala on September 14 was due to the absence of a road sign.
