Uganda Travel and Tourism News: One person died and 9 injured in road accident

At least one person has been confirmed dead and 9 others injured and admitted in a hospital following an early morning accident along the Rukungiri-Mbarara road.

The accident involved an Isuzu Savanah bus UAK 946A which collided with a Fuso Lorry UAK 614C.

The South Western region Police Spokesperson, Polly Namaye says that the bus rammed into a stationary lorry after it broke down near Nyamitanga Bridge, near Mbarara town.

Namaye attributes the accident to reckless and careless driving on the part of the bus driver.

The deceased has been identified as Sifa Sipola who was traveling to Kyankwanzi.
