Uganda Travel and Tourism News: Construction of Gulu-Atiak road to begin soon

The Ministry of Works and transport has set aside about 89 billion shillings to upgrade the Gulu-Atiak road from gravel to tarmac.
The construction work to be carried out by China Henan International Cooperation Construction Company begins in three months time.
Works state minister John Byabagambi says once complete, the 74-kilometer road will help improve transport network from Gulu to Juba in South Sudan.
Byabagambi adds that Gulu-Atiak road has been impassable for long adding that once the road is completed service delivery will improve.
The Executive Director of Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA), Peter Sebanakitta says that currently they are compensating residents who have been affected by the expansion of the road.
