Uganda Travel and Tourism News: Carnival on for Ngamba Chimpanzees

The Ngamba chimpanzee sanctuary has launched a carnival aimed at raising funds, towards preservation of the country major tourist attraction.

Ngamba chimpanzee sanctuary which has been existence for over 10 years, is seeking support for the refurbishment of its electric fence to protect the orphaned chimps from potential harm.

Ngamba executive director lily Ajarova says the carnival is meant to create public awareness about chimps and emphasize the need to preserve wild life.

Ajarova adds that they are involving children through an assortment of activities such as exhibitions which will take place on 4th December at the Sheraton hotel gardens.

The sanctuary is seeking over 100 million shillings to sustain its operations in looking after the chimpanzees most of whom are orphaned.
