Uganda Sports News: MPs want sports betting regulated

So members of Parliament are planning to front a proposed law top regulate the activities of sports betting schemes in the country.
Betting in the sports fraternity has over the years grown, with many companies setting up shop in different parts of the country to attract sports fans.
The Shadow Finance minister, Geoffrey Ekanya says the law will help to regulate the sector, as well as check betting companies that tend to evade tax and also cheat their clients.
Serere Woman MP Alice Alaso who is also the Secretary general of FDC says it is the duty of the government to protect its citizens from exploitation and if sports betting companies are exploiting Ugandans, something must be done.
Some of the betting companies already established in the country include Sports Betting Africa, Gaming International, Royal Betting and Kings Betting, among others.
