The Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of Uganda (FMU) has warned the rich against organizing illegal motor sports rallies.

The warning follows the botched motor sports rally in Mukono town that turned bloody as the organizer Ponsiono Lwakataka was hurt by irate motor rally fans.

The people turned rowdy after it was announced that the motorbike riders were not present and only cars would be driven at the competition. People started asking for the refund of their money saying that they were much interested in watching motorbikes.

The Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of Uganda, President, George Kajimu says that the confusion in Mukono was caused by an illegal rally that was organized in Masaka at the same day.

Kajimu notes that the motorcyclists were wooed by the Masaka event without informing the organizers of the Mukono rally.

He asks the rich people who have made the playgrounds for motor sports rallies to declare them to the federation before they are prosecuted.

Kajimu also says that any organizer of motor sports rally has to inform the federation to avoid antagonisms.
