Uganda Sports News: Cricket captain Arinaitwe is sports person of January

Uganda national Cricket team captain Davis Arinaitwe has been voted as the Nile special-Uspa sportsperson for January accolade.

 Arinaitwe was voted unanimously by the sports journalists during their monthly meeting at the Lugogo Oasis restaurant

He led Nile Knights cricket club to victory in the East Africa Cricket League T-20 cup when they beat their counterparts Rwenzori Warriors and later hit an unbeaten half century as the Knights lost to Kongonis in the finals of the East Africa Elite Cricket Cup.

Meanwhile the journalists also commended the netbbal national team, She Cranes for winning the Mapinduzi Cup in Zanzibar after beating Zambia 52-28 in the finals.

Patidar Cricket Club was also commended for winning the Champions trophy after beating Charity by 23 runs, to start 2012 in style after sweeping everything last year.
