Uganda People News: Uganda Parliament ready to host inter parliament union

Ugandans are ready to receiv visitors coming to attend the 126^th Inter Parliamentary Union meeting from March 31 to April 4th, 2012 in Kampala.

The Speaker of Uganda’s Parliament Rebecca Kadaga says that Uganda Parliament is ready to receive the over 1500 delegates from 160 countries during the inter parliament union.

Kadaga says that even all Ugandans are happy and are ready to receive the delegates from the 160 countries. 
The inter- parliamentary union chose Uganda last October to host this international conference. Uganda beat off stiff competition from many European countries which also wanted to host the inter parliament union. 

This is the first time for an East African country to host inter parliament union. The inter parliament union was established in 1889 and it is a focal point for world-wide parliamentary dialogue.
