Uganda People News: IPU participants assured of proper health care

The Parliament of Uganda has assured participants in the Inter parliamentary Union conference Uganda is hosting in March 2012 of readiness by the organising committee to manage any health related situations that will occur.
The head of the health committee, Paula Turyahikayo says Parliament of Uganda has plans of setting up two health camps at Serena and Imperial Royale hotels, where the bulk of the guests attending the conference will reside.
Turyahikayo, who is the MP for Rubabo says a mobile clinic has already been purchased to be stationed at the venue of the conference in Munyonyo to cater for any ailments that may affect the guests attending the conference.
She told journalists today that they will also book two VIP rooms at Mulago hospital where delegates who are seriously ill will be admitted.
Turyahikayo says the health team has already put in a request for procurement of drugs, equipment and first aid kits to the Ministry of Health for approval.
She says they will train health workers on their health teams about first aid and other health related skills to ensure proper care for the IPU participants.
