Uganda People News: Electoral Commission ordered to compensate Dr. Epetait

The court of appeal sitting in Kampala has ordered the electoral commission to pay costs to Dr Francis Epetait, the Mp for Ngora.

The order arises from an application filled by the electoral commission saying they had lost interest in the case.

The court of appeal ruling was lead by justice A.E.N Mpagi Bahiegeine together with DCJ  Byamugisha and Steven kavuma agreed with Sam njuba and Emmanuel Twarebireho  lawyers of Dr epetait.

The lawyers argued that since the electoral commission has lost interest in pursuing the appeal Dr epetait had the leverage to pursue the case since he was initially accused jointly with the electoral commission.

In their ruling the justices said that that while they grant costs to Epetait they also want  a submission from his  lawyers on further instructions from their client in regard to the case.
