Busoga Kingdom issues are still matters of tension as witnessed today when Prince Edward Columbus Wambuzi resumed office of the Kyabazinga.

Anti riot Police was today heavily deployed at Busoga Kingdom headquarters in Bugembe as Wambuzi resumed his duties.

Police armed with teargas canisters manned the check points set up at the road leading to the headquarters.

Ben Mubangizi, Busoga region’s Police Commander who led the operation said the deployment was after getting information that a faction of Basoga had intentions of attacking Prince Wambuzi.

Some key Kingdom officials and hereditary chiefs from Busoga were also blocked from accessing the kingdom headquarters.

Among the chiefs blocked were Juma Kawanguzi the Kisiki of Busiki County, Christopher Mutyaba the Nkono of Bukono County, Yasin Waguma the Ntembe of Butembe County and John Ntale the Nanyumba of Bunyole County in Mayuge district but went jeering to themselves amidst frustrations from the Police.
