Uganda Heritage News: Mbarara councilors asked to endorse kingdom

Councilors in Mbarara and the greater Ankole kingdom as a whole have been urged to table motion for the restoration of Ankole kingdom. 

 The spokesperson of Ankole cultural group, Moses Kanaala says that the issue of the restoration of Ankole kingdom rises in the hands of the area LC5 councilors. In order for the Ankole kingdom to be restored, the LC5 councilors in Mbarara, Bushenyi, Sheema, Ibanda, Isingiro, Kiruhura among other districts in the greater Ankole region need to first endorse it.

Kanaala says that the councilors in Ankole sub region should know that the restoration of Ankole kingdom comes with benefits such as economic empowerment.

He further says that if the councilors make a resolution for the Kingdom restoration, it will be easy for parliament to make it a crucial issue to be discussed.
