The Kingdom of Buganda is set to evict thousands of what it has called squatters on its land in the Kingdom County (Saza) of Mawokota (Mpigi district)

The statement has been issued by the Kabaka’s representative in Mawokota, Steven Kayima at a training workshop.

Kayima says that about 49 square miles of land have been illegally occupied by people whom he says have started putting up permanent projects like schools, health centers and planting forests among others.

He says that though some people have started sending him threatening messages, he will not stop the move to evict them saying that he would remain a hero if he died for the wellbeing of the Kingdom.

In a workshop they also resolved to plant trees in about 2,000 acres of land in different parts of Mpigi district (Mawokota).
