Uganda Heritage News: Buganda kingdom to rehabilitate Wamala Tombs

Buganda Kingdom is planning to rehabilitate Wamala tombs first  before it embarks on the reconstruction of Kasubi tombs.

 The Katikiro of Buganda, John Baptist Walusimbi says it is the culture of the kingdom to ensure Wamala tombs are I good state before undertaking any rehabilitation work on Kasubi tombs.

He says the renovation works are Wamala tombs are soon starting as they search for the contractors to reconstruct Kasubi Tombs which was gutted by fire in March 2010.

 Walusimbi said this while receiving Nakasero market traders under their body Nakasero family group who also contributed two million shillings for the reconstruction of Kasubi tombs.

The group also bought a certificate worth, 500,000 shillings in support of the kingdom’s treasury.
