The Kabaka (King) of Buganda Kingdom has recognized the Baganda community in South Africa as another County (Saza) of the Kingdom.

In the Kabaka’s message delivered by the Deputy Katikiro (Premier) Emmanuel Senduala to the Baganda community in South African, Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II says that he has recognized the Baganda Community in South Africa as a County due to the support they give the Kingdom back home.

The Kabaka in particular commends his subjects in South Africa for the support they have extended to Mutesa I Royal University.

However, His Highness, Mutebi says that the Baganda at home and in the Diaspora have not done enough in the reconstruction of the Kasubi tombs.

He says that most Baganda have left the Kasubi Tombs reconstruction project to the donors like UNESCO and the government. Kasubi tombs were destroyed in a miraculous fire outbreak in Match 2009.

Sandaula was addressing hundreds of Banganda and well-wishers in a meeting in Pretoria, South Africa.
