Uganda Health News: Mulago to improve theatres and mortuary services

The Executive Director Mulago hospital Dr.  Baterana Byarugaba says that Mulago hospital hospital is going to focus on improving the theatres and mortuary conditions at the hospital.

Dr.Baterana revealed this while briefing members of parliament and journalists who had visited the hospital on the second day to know the condition in the hospital.

He says that the hospital does not have up to date machines in the 18theatres and in the next financial year the hospital will procure those machines in order to make all the theatres functional.

Dr. Baterana says that the machines in the theatre are too old to work on patients as required and there is the need for new theatre machine costing 50000 US dollars each.

He also says that the hospital will modernize the mortuary such that it does not leave the lives of the workers at risk.

Dr. Baterana says that they are going to put in place the lights to sterilize the mortuary and also put in place gadgets that mop out the smell.
