Over 500 residents of Namuwongo Kisigu a Kampala suburb have benefited from the free health care services provided by International Health Sciences University.
The three day health camp will at the end lead to research into the major causes of disease and death in slums.
The Medical camp coordinator Dr Peter Kirabira says they are also to do a survey on what exactly causes maternal mortality which still stands at 435 per 100,000 births country wide.
Kirabira explains that the activities being conducted include treating fever, help with birth control and treating infections among children and dental complications among others.
He says they are also sensitizing residents on how to prevent HIV infection and offering tips on how to lead healthy lives.
