Uganda Government News: Parliament approves Sekandi for VP and Mbabazi for PM
The members of parliament have today approved the former Speaker of parliament, Edward Kiwanuka Sekandi for Vice Presidency and former security minister, Amama Mbabazi for Prime minister.
The house approved Sekandi first and later Mbabazi. However the MP for Kampala Central, Mohamed Nsereko, a member of the ruling party amazed everyone when he walked out of Parliament arguing that his conscience did not allow him to be part of the team of MPs set to approve Mbabazi for the post of prime minister.
MP Nsereko says the former security minister is not politically clean because he influences vote rigging in some parts of the country. Nsereko suggests that Mbabazi should remain in his capacity as the Secretary General of the ruling party.
