Uganda Government News: Opposition MPs to audit their performance

Over 60 opposition Members of Parliament have convened in Jinja for a three day retreat to audit their performance since they were elected for the 9th parliament in February 2011.

MPs from the Forum for Democratic Change, Democratic party, Uganda people’s Congress, the Conservative party and JEEMA are meeting at Nile Resort Hotel in Jinja.

The opposition chief whip who is also the woman memberof parliament for Kasese district  Winnie Kiiza told journalists at parliament that the opposition mps are going to draw their strategic plan and checklist of the thing they want to accomplish and prepare themselves  for the next parliamentary session which starts next week.

She also said that in they will use the retreat strategize more on how to deal with increasing corruption among ministers and government officials.
