Uganda Government News: Minister Mwesige asked to resign

Pressure is mounting on Local government minister Adolf Mwesige to resign because of anomalies in his ministyr.

Mukono Municipality MP Betty Nambooze says Mwesige should step aside for failing to run the affairs of the Ministry well.

She cites the questionable procurement of bicycles for LC1 leaders. Although the government paid for the bicycles, not even a single one was delivered by the contractor.

Nambooze says she has got reliable information that the Ministry has again acquired 2.5 Million US Dollars and has already ordered another 70,000 bicycles.

She says this is going on yet Parliament had asked them to halt the deal until the Investigations into the botched payment of last time are completed.
