The Uganda People’s Congress is challenging the National Resistance Movement government to undertake drastic changes in the current education sector with a view of ensuring quality education.

The president of UPC, Olara Otunu says that the government has wrongly implemented the Universal primary Education program by failing to ensure quality education.

He says pupils are going through UPE schools without minding about their performance.

Otunu also criticizes the trend by NRM of giving education to a section of Ugandans leaving the rest out of the system saying this will not lead to improvement and development of the
nation.

He mentioned the state house scholarships as an example of education opportunities open to a few Ugandans and offered in unclear circumstances.
