The Bishop of west Nile Diocese Rev.Dr. Joel Samson Abetia has expressed regret over the increasing examination malpractices in schools.

Bishop Abetia says that the practice of cheating during examinations is too much in schools and could destroy the education standards of Uganda.

He said this while speaking at a memorial service of late Josephine Finia Aridru who is a late wife of the Member of Parliament for Arua municipality in Arua district, Gabdriel Aridru Ajedra.

Rev.Dr.Abetia told the people gathered at the memorial service at the mp Aridri’s  home in Ajono parish in  Vurra county in Arua District that due to consistent cheating  in UNEB examination in schools the UNEB secretary  Mathew Bukenya has written to the bishops pleading for their intervention into the matter  to stop the practice in the schools.

Abetia warned teachers and parents to discourage the practice of examination cheating in schools because it is dangerous to children’s  future and the country.

He asked the leaders in west Nile and the country to advocate for service delivery to poor people and guard against the practice of corruption where by bad leaders steal from the sick, weak and the poor.
