Vendors in Busega market are protesting the current leadership in the market accusing them of lacking transparency and accountability.

A section of vendors in the market are blaming their chairman Kitata Abdallah for not being transparent to them and are seriously calling for his dismissal.

They are say many vendors are no longer able to make a good living from the market due to what they call unclear practices that leave them paying high fees.

Another group of vendors are happy about Hasifah Ssenkungu for not allowing vendors to hold elections for new leaders.

The battle between the two parties spread which forced police to disperse the angry vendors by firing tear gas and live bullets in the air.
