The former Kampala street vendors whom the Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) and the police evicted about a month ago have threatened to demonstrate if they are not given an alternative area to work in.

Edward Kyalula, the Secretary General of Kampala Street Vendors Association, says that they will storm the streets and police stations with all their wives and children in protest of rendering them jobless.

Kyalula says that they used to pay taxes to the authority but the same authority evicted them within a short notice and it did not provide them with an alternative area to conduct in their businesses.

Kyalula says that they request KCCA to give them Clock Tower playground as an alternative business area since the space is just idle.
