Uganda Arts News: Uganda Germany cultural society brings back 'LABA art festival'
The Uganda Germany Cultural Society (UGCS) has organized the 3rd LABA art festival in Kampala
The LABA art festival will take place on May 31st at Bukoto Street Kampala and will gather many artists, designers and musicians who will entertain and give their cultural experiences to the public.
UGCS’s Director Roberta Wagner says that LABA has gained its reputation for being an exiting and entertaining festival to individuals and families since the public gets to learn more about deferent cultures.
She says that the festival will start from 11am and will continues through out the day with different activities, including cultural workshops, theatre, dance, poetry, competitions, art, and craft shows and music refreshments.
Wagner says that this years theme ‘Moving roots’ is aimed to bring out traditional meaning that art can be seen in everything and every where.
She says that in Uganda the role of art has not yet been defined as a tool that brings public together through accepting and appreciating art as part of their every day live
The festival which is supported by Moon burger lager, Germany Embassy, Fotogenix and Ivad will be opened by the mayor of Kampala Nasser Ntege Ssebagala with free entrance for the public.
