Uganda Arts News: Silvia Awori Designs brings Motorola to Kampala

Ugandas Leading fashion designer and show bizz icon Silvia Awori has partnered with giant mobile phone hand set makers Motorola in a close collaboration code named Motocouture with Silvia Awori.

This will be Silivia first fashion show in two years and it will be held at the newly refurbished Serena conference center on the 14th October 2006.

The event will showcase exclusive motocouture outfit that will be selling on the Motorola mobile brands internationally.

Silvia Awori says that motocouture with Silvia will be celebrated to bring home the different collections she has designed for fashion events through out Africa which include face of Africa, Kenya fashion week, Cape town fashion week among many others.

This is the first time in two years that I have had chance to work on a collection for my label and launch it in an exciting and spectacular way, she says.

The fashion is expected to be graced with over 1,500 people that will include key public and entertainment figures. I am grateful to Motorola for coming on board with me as the major sponsor of what will be a great night in Kampala not only in fashion but in entertainment too, she adds

The Senior Director, Mmarket Development mobile devices business in southern Africa, Nikesh Patel says that its really cool to see that cutting edge fashion is emerging from Uganda influenced by empowered women such as Silvia Awori.

Patel says that supplicated brands like Motorola V3i, MOTORAZR among others can be only introduced to the Ugandan market with labels like Silvia Awori.
