The Ministry of Health has warned an outbreak of diseases due to heavy rains in different parts of the country. The Minister of State for Health, James Kakooza says heavy rains are blamed for the increased cases of malaria, colds and cholera among other diseases. He was today addressing journalists at Uganda Media Centre in Kampala. Kakooza advises Ugandans to keep their homesteads clean and sleep under mosquito nets to avoid diseases. At least nine people, in Kampala suburbs and over 16 in Bugiri district died of cholera in October 2009.
Kakooza calls for prompt reporting of suspected cases of cholera before they get out of hand.
