The Federation of Performing Artists in Uganda has joined hundreds of Ugandans who have mourned Maj. Gen. James Kazini.
The President of the Federation, Andrew Benon Kibuuka says the artists’ fraternity in Uganda is profoundly shocked by the demise of Maj. Gen. Kazini.
He says the artists industry in Uganda has lost a hero, a friend and an investor who has been always available to assist musicians in trying moments.
Kibuuka says Kazini founded Umoja Band and employed a number of musicians.
He says Kazini started Umoja Club, bought first class music equipments which many musicians including Jose Chameleon, Bobi Wine, Bebe Cool, Juliana Kanyomozi, Iryn Namubiru and Silver Kyagulanyi among others used a lot to record their best hits.
Kibuuka says Kazini was behind the coming of many Congolese singers to Uganda including Tshala Mwana, Aurlus Mabele and Awilo Lomgomba among others.
Maj. Gen. James Kazini was murdered by one of his girl friends, Lydia Draru on November 10th, 2009 in Kampala.
He was buried on Friday November 13th, in Sanga Kiruhura district.
Kazini was mourned by both members of opposition and the ruling government because he was a welcoming person to all.
