Fourteen suspected rebels of the ‘shadow’ Popular Patriotic Front have been committed to the High Court of Kampala for trial today.

The fourteen suspected rebels include a freelance journalist from Gulu, Patrick Otim. They were arrested in June this year and charged with treason and concealment of treason.

Prosecution says the people mentioned above mobilized logistical support for the rebellion which included satellite phones, solar panels, global positioning system machines, laptops, money, and fire arms.

Prosecution says the suspects committed the offences between 2006 and May 2009 in Masindi, Kampala, Gulu, Pader, Kitgum, Nebbi, Apac and Amuru.

The suspects appeared today before Buganda road court grade one magistrate, Geoffrey Sayekwo who committed their case to the High Court following completion of investigations into the matter.
