The President of the Democratic Party (DP), John Sebaana Kizito has likened President Museveni’s regime to that of the fallen Uganda’s dictator Iddi Amin Ddada.

Sebaana says that Amin’s regime was far better in handling land matters than Museveni’s regime. He says that although Amin grabbed peoples land he distributed it equally to all Ugandans irrespective of their colour, tribe, race and religion.

Sebaana says the only thing Amin wanted was to praise him that he was the conqueror of the British Empire and one gets land.

The President of DP says that President Museveni whom he referred to as a ‘benevolent and cunning dictator’ directed the Members of Parliament to pass the controversial land amendments bill 2007 to give protection to the government cadres who have grabbed land. Parliament passed the bill last week.

Sebaana also decries the rampant abuse of human rights under NRM regime, which he said led to the establishment of safe houses similar to those that existed during Amin’s reign.

He says like Amin, Museveni’s government has torture chambers in Nakasero, Kireka, Kololo and Bugolobi.
