The cultural head of Banyala, a minority group in Kayunga district; Becca Kimeze has supported a recent proposal by President Museveni to organize a national conference for leaders of cultural institutions in Uganda.
Kimeze says the conference will help his ‘kingdom’ Kayunga to reconcile with the kingdom of Buganda.
Kimeze says all his subjects in ‘Kayunga kingdom’ supports Museveni’s proposal for a national conference.
Museveni recently told the people of Kasese that the national conference for traditional leaders is in a pipeline.
The President told the people of Kasese that the government restored kingdoms but it did not discuss in detail how the kingdoms were supposed to work in harmony with the ruling government.
Museveni was speaking at a ceremony where he recognized the Obusinga (kingdom) of Rwenzururu and King Charles Wesley Mumbere.
Kimeze says his kingdom Kayunga is ready to work in harmony with the Kabaka of Buganda.
