The Queen of England has this afternoon arrived in Trinidad and Tobago to attend the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM).
The Queen of England, the main figure in CHOGM activities arrived in Trinidad and Tobago amidst tight security from both UK and Trinidad and Tobago.
The CHOGM 2009 in Trinidad and Tobago is running under the theme “Partnering for a more equitable and sustainable future”.
There is tight security and excitement in Trinidad and Tobago. The security has closed most of the roads and traffic going to the main venues at the Hyatt Regency Hotel and the International Finance Centre. Trinidad and Tobago has 1.5 million people.
Very huge ships have been placed at the Port of Port Spain to provide guests with five star hotel services.
However, the President of Malawi, Bingu wa Mutharika is going to miss this year’s CHOGM in Trinidad and Tobago because of his recent government policy which is requiring him to reduce foreign travel.
