The Presidential Guard Brigade soldiers have arrested a Buganda kingdom youth activist in Rakai, Kanwagi Bazirwane.

Bazirwane was arrested on Wednesday as President Museveni was on tour of Rakai and Lyantonde district.

Kanwagi Bazirwane is a youth representative in the Buganda Lukiiko representing Kooki County.

The suspect claims that he was tortured. But the Presidential Guard Brigade soldiers have told Ultimate Media today at State House Nakasero that none of their soldiers harassed the suspect.

Kanwagi was arrested after he stood in front of President Museveni with posters reading that, “we ask you Mr. President to reopen our radio CBS.”

Kanwagi was immediately whisked away by the PGB soldiers who later handed him over to police in Lyantonde town council.

Police suspects that Kanwagi, who is also a member of Baganda Nkobazambogo might have participated in the recent three day violent riots in Buganda region.

The Deputy Information Minister of Buganda kingdom, Merdad Lubega says the kingdom is working with police to have the suspect released on bond.
