The Ministry of Health in Uganda has announced that not breastfeeding babies, especially in a friendly way cause respiratory problems.

In a news statement today, the ministry urges mothers to breastfeed their babies for at least six months.

The announcement has come one day before Uganda joins the rest of the world to observe breastfeeding week. The breastfeeding week kicks off from August 1-7th.

The theme for this year’s breastfeeding week is ‘breastfeeding the baby in friendly way. The theme, according to the ministry of health is intended to promote breastfeeding in Uganda and the world at large.
