President Museveni has today warned against a growing alliance between the Kingdom of Buganda and members of opposition.
Museveni says opportunistic politicians want to use the Kingdom of Buganda for their selfish political ambitions.
The President who is on his second day of a four day tour of Rakai, Sembabule, Masaka, Lyantonde and Kyotera said that traditional institutions were restored by National Resistance Movement.
He advises the people of Uganda to ignore politicians who want to use Buganda Kingdom to over throw NRM government.
Museveni asks where people like John Sebaana Kizito and Betty Nambooze of Democratic Party were when National Resistance Army was shedding blood.
Museveni says Buganda kingdom in 1960s formed an alliance with UPC because the DP leader then, Ben Kiwanuka, had told the leaders of Buganda that some of the things Buganda was demanding were not implementable.
He says the outcome of the alliance between Buganda and UPC led to a political turmoil which the President says he doesn’t want to repeat in the country.
