Uganda Health News: Mulago neurosurgery for facelift

Mulago National Referral Hospital’s neurosurgery unit has received 45 million shillings from Mary and Jovan Kiryabwire Foundation for facelift. Prof. Jovan Kiryabwire was Uganda’s first neurosurgeons. He died from cancer in 2004.
The unit has also got a donation of 1.9 billion shillings from Duke University of United States of America.
The Deputy Director of Mulago Neurosurgery Unit, Dr. John Mukasa says the unit admits patients suffering from neck, head and brain diseases.
It also admits patients with tumors, infections, and congenital abnormalities in children among other diseases.
The money is meant to renovate the unit’s share bathrooms, lighting system, windows and plumbing among others.
