The late Maj. Gen. James Kazini had no political ambitions as some sections of the media and politicians have alleged today in the local press.

The New Vision newspaper in its report today alleged that a source close to the former army commander, Maj. Gen. Kazini told their journalists on Saturday that he was planning to run for Parliament in 2011.

Phoebe Kazini, the widow to the late Major General has today morning told Ultimate Media that Kazini was planning to quit the money to concentrate on his family and businesses but not politics.

Kazini’s widow says her late husband had no intentions of replacing Christopher Kyabazanga as Members for Parliament for Busongora North.

The New Vision in its page one report today titled ‘Maj. Gen. James Kazini was to stand in 2011’alleged that the deceased was planning to stand in Busongora (Kasese), an area where Kazini enjoyed a hero’s status because of his successful military campaign against rebels of the Allied Defence Forces (ADF).

Phoebe says no one knew Kazini as she knew him. She says Kazini wanted to first clear his court cases, resign the army and concentrate on business.

Phoebe says Kazini had not made any public declaration that he wanted any political seat in Parliament and so people should not engage his name in politics.
