The President of Uganda Golf Union (UGU), Johnson Omollo has said the people of Mbale and Eastern Uganda in general are so excited that Golf will in 2010 return to their region after a long time.
Omollo has told journalists today in Lugogo, a Kampala suburb that UGU accepted to revamp the Golf course in Mbale because so many people were sending letters to the union asking why the course was in disuse.
He says UGU is in talks with the National Forest Authority (NFA) to settle the land wrangles on which Mbale Golf course seats.
Omollo says NFA has been so positive since the talks started last week.
Omollo says UGU returns to NFA next week to discuss the proposal to use Mbale course. He says part of the land on which the Golf course seats belongs to NFA.
