The Member of Parliament for Kyamuswa country in Kalangala district, Moses Kabuusu has expressed concern at the increasing cases of crocodiles feasting on human beings.
He says the shortages of fish in Lake Victoria has turned crocodiles to hunt for human beings for food and people in Kalangala are facing the wrath of the wild mammals.
Kabuusuwas yesterday speaking to Ultimate Media at London Chamber building on Johnston street in Kampala. The MP says cases of people eaten up by crocodiles are currently rampant in Kalangala, also known as Ssese islands.
Kabuusu says the district authorities have reported the matter to Uganda Wild Authority and they are awaiting rescue from the government agency.
He further warns people who live near the shores of Lake Victoria to be on alert of crocodiles that may attack them.
An LCI Chairman in Koome Islands on Lake Victoria was recently eaten by crocodiles while fishing on Lake Victoria.
Kabuusu says crocodiles mostly eat people who swim on the lake waters and children and women who fetch water from the lake banks.
