It is not the first time for the Cécile Verny Quartet to inspire the Ugandan Music scene. The group had a performance at Ndere Center in 2006. After returning to Germany, the Cécile Verny Quartet felt so inspired by their stay in Uganda and they composed a song called Kampala.

Cécile Verny was born in the Coted´Ivoire and started touring through Europe when she was only seventeen. While travelling she breathed in different cultures and transforms this into her songs.

Therefore having an African-French background and living in Germany, she transforms this into a bilingual and spiritual performance. In English and French, in body, soul and voice Cécile Verny characterises the fusion of different culture areas while singing chanson, scat-vocals, blues and swing.

The show is supported by Goethe Zentrum Kampala/Ugandan German Cultural Society, Goethe – Institute, German Embassy in Kampala, Kampala Serena Hotel, Radio One and The New Vision among others. From Uganda, Cécile Verny will travel to Ethiopia, Djibouti and Eritrea.
