St. Balikuddembe Market traders are ready to tap dollars during the Common Wealth Heads of Government Meeting later this year.
The St Balikudembe Market Traders and Vendors Association, spokesperson Wilberforce Mubiru says that they have already identified goods that will be sold to CHOGM visitors basing on the international standards.
Mubiru says that following the launch of CHOGM, which was opened by the President Museveni at Serena Hotel in Kampala, traders learnt that the occasion will be a turning point economically for those who prepare themselves in time.
He says that the president advised them to have different varieties goods that can attract the international visitors to buy so that they increase on the revenue collections.
In an exclusive interview with Ultimate Media, Mubiru said that Ugandans are lucky because there are different types of fruits, vegetables, food crops that some of the coming visitors may not have in their countries.
He appeals to all traders in the market to work jointly with the market Administration and Kampala City Council to improve the hygiene of the market.
