Review:
If you want to par take in conversations at work and with friends, you gotta to see the movie because everybody, their momma and their kids, are watching “King Kong.” The movie has been showing since Wednesday, the release day for most block busters, and by Saturday when we got to see it, one was better off buying tickets in advance or off the internet- even with many theatres showing the movie hourly during showtimes.
We got to the theatre and missed the 8:30 show as it was sold out. We got some seats for the 9:30 show and decided to spend the extra hour at a restaurant. That was a big mistake. We got back to the theatre at 9:30 to see that all the tickets were sold out. We smiled as we confidently walked by, only to find no seats. There were people sitting on the floor against the back wall and along the walkways in this theatre. Thank god there was no fire incident! So we found a very comfortable spot with a great view and halfway lay down to watch the 3 hour 7 minutes movie.
About the movie: Great movie! Do not come to see the movie for a great story line because the story is simple and almost everyone already knows 85 percent of it. Come to watch action magic! Not much in terms of acting but the best actor award should go to King Kong himself. He was probably the most believable character in the movie. They mastered his characteristics and sentiments pretty well. A lot of respect must be given to Naomi Watts considering that she did much of her acting alone in a green/blue room.

Naomi Watts in the making of "King Kong".
What I probably did not like about the movie was the storyline at the beginning. The whole thing about Innocent beautiful white people go on this Island and meet gollum-like half-clothed savage natives of another race, who kidnap the helpless loosely dressed blue eyed blonde. But the movie was first made in the early 20th Century; we will attempt to forgive that. Besides, they put a black man as a somewhat important member of the crew to probably cleverly neutralize this otherwise obvious racial issue. If that was not enough they also added an Asian crewmember.
Favorite scene:
There are a lot of favorite scenes. They are all on Skull Island. I wish the movie was set completely on Skull Island. I could have watched 5 hours of the action on this island. From dinosaurs, giant face sucking worms- we were covering our heads on the movie floor. BUT… the best scene is the last King Kong vs. dinosaur battle. The hair on my body is standing up just writing about it- so grotesque, so macho, so cool!

Marketing Stunts:
Marketing King Kong was a piece of cake. There were no stunts needed. The movie spoke for itself. All they had to show were clips of the action at Skull Island.
